Maria Damanaki holds a Master’s degree in Information Processing Systems and Machine Intelligence from the University of Patras, Greece, completed in 2023. Her thesis focused on “Object Detection and Tracking by Autonomous Vehicles with Camera and LiDAR Sensors Fusion,” involving multi-modal data fusion and the Kalman Filter. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from the same university, where she specialized in Electronics, Computers, and Signal Processing and completed a thesis on “Segmentation of Cardiac MRI” using Convolutional Neural Networks in Matlab. Maria Damanaki has undertaken various projects, including object tracking using camera and LiDAR data with Kalman and Particle Filtering, cardiac MRI segmentation with 3D CNNs, gesture identification with k-Nearest Neighbor, image processing and enhancement techniques, image alignment with affine transformations and pyramids, data classification with algorithms like k-Means and Perceptron, and statistical signal processing for data analysis and spectrum estimation. She has a good knowledge in Python, Matlab, C++, Prolog, Assembly, and Fortran, and experienced with tools such as Spyder, Google Colab, Arduino, Weka, and OrCAD Capture & Spice. Maria is fluent in Greek and has an intermediate proficiency in English.
